Foreclosure is Putting Malinois at Risk

They say it takes a village to raise a child. We are currently facing a crisis in America where that village is needed. Not for a child but for the Malinois owned by those facing foreclosure. There are thousands of pet owners and Malinois owners across the country that repeat the same refrain; “I can’t imagine how bad it would be to not only lose your home but to have to give up your pets as well.”
Feeling hopeless? Wondering what you, just one person can do? We’d like to offer you the chance to help. Volunteer to keep a Malinois for someone in your area. You can set the rules! Establish a time frame, who will be responsible for the cost of food, visiting privileges, who will walk/exercise, and what will be done in the event they are unable to reclaim their Malinois in the time agreed on. Make sure you get all agreements in writing and signed by both parties.
We’ve provided a category those willing to help and for those requesting help. Create a comment in the appropriate category making sure you include the information someone will need to contact you. Then review the posts in the My Malinois Needs Help or I Can Help a Malinois and respond to the information posted there. Please don’t forget to post a means to contact you to insure your offer to help or plea for help makes connections with the appropriate person. You can find additional tips, advice and links to additional resources at Malinois and Foreclosure
While we cannot help every pet maybe we can take the inititive and lead the way for other groups to step up and do the same for the pets they specialize in.
Thank you
